  Hello!!

I thought I'd stop by for a bit, and post as fast as I can. Iv been busy with summer being in the last part and trying to get the 'back to schoolers' ready for school soon, which is right around the corner. My emails are piling up as well as snail mail. Just thought I'd let you know it will be awhile before I can tackle them all.

I do have great news, my husband got hired at a better construction place, metal stud framing, which is much closer to home. And miraculously we had our debt cut more than half!! Thanks for all prayers, I know some of you have been praying for us for a long time.

Thanks to the following ladies for a many great mail days the past few weeks:

Hello Hello!

Thanks for stopping by, pull up a bean bag, pour a nice cup of coffee & join in

Time sure flies, doesn't it? This summer I thought I was going to get a lot done, I sure fooled myself! lol! Im a scattered brain ... I'll be over here with a project, then the next few moments somewhere else. Alls I did was just started another mess. Im having a hard time staying focus. Yes, Im one of those people who writes grocery lists and loses track of them.

This weekend I did get most of the swaps ready to go out, I think I made over 45 FBs (friendship books) via X-slips. Most of them are in themes of Country Kitchens, some are cute comical cat themes. I was messing around with paint shop earlier and made another teddy bear clipart. I will get it uploaded hopefully soon here. My 12 year old daughter is very gifted at clipart. Maybe she will draw some up for me. Trying to draw with a mouse is terrible! lol If anyone can draw with a mouse, I bet they can do wonders in painting!

Last night both my husband & I were downloading some songs, and for some reason I was trying to remember a song from the late 70s, the song is called 'The Promise' from the movie 'The Promise'  But all the songs that we downloaded was not the one I had in mind. If only I knew the singer's   name, I wouldn't of loss so much sleep, lol!

Also, I been trying to find out thru the internet, if recently used stamps are of any value. I recall someone saying they held on to their stamps and I think they said the goverment (postal) was buying them back, a few cents each. Maybe it was for a charity. My memory is failing me.

Can someone invent a posty note that you can stick on self? I will be your first customer

Going to putt around for a bit

 Wishing Everyone a Great week

 Hello!!

Thanks for visiting and taking a coffee break here! Good to see you.

Thought I'd drop by for a bit before I get back to tidying up. I have material
all over the place, scraps were scattered just about every place possible.
I even had pieces of thread all over my clothes and my hair, lol! Just been
basically mending things. Been pretty fun. I might pick up more material
later to make some matching placemats with lace. The options are
endless.

The last few nights have been sleepless, now both our cats decided to
act up. Since the temperature has been climbing back to the 100s, they
take their naps during the day. But trying to keep them awake is a
chore, lol! They just flop back into sleep with a wink of an eye. So now
when night time comes around they think it's their que to play. This is
when I wish they were outdoor cats. Nah, we do have possums running
loose in our neighborhood & I think they are violent towards cats, not too
sure though.

I don't know if this is just me, or didn't it seem that summers ago, that the sun
would still be out til 10pm at least? Now the sun sets here around
8:40pm. Just seems we would see the sun out longer when we were camping
during mid- to late summer.

Thank you for a great mail day to:

Hello!

Thanks for stopping by!

Not much but sewing has been going on here. I can now sew without bunching the material up, now just to conquer the thread breaking on me a lot, lol. I have made a few pot holders just to practice on. And a few mending things for the kids. I almost have the hang of it

We just had some friends give us a great deal of zucchini fresh out of their garden! I'll be making some zucchini bread a bit. I love to add pineapples to this recipe. The kids will eat their vegtables this way.

(I will post the recipe. This one was given to me by a very sweet lady)

Zucchini Nut Loaf

  • 1 Cup Grated Unpeeled Zucchini
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 Cup Oil
  • ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • 1 1/2 Cup of Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Grated Lemon Peel
  • 1/2 Cup of Chopped Walnuts
  • (opt.) 6 oz. can of Chopped Pineapple

In mixing bowl beat Zucchini, Sugar, and Egg together. Add oil. Mix well.

Stir together Flour, Cinnamon, Salt, Soda, Nutmeg, Baking Powder, and Lemon Peel, stir into Zucchini mixture, fold in nuts. Pour into a greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan. Bake at 325 degrees til done. About 60 to 65 min. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan, cool loaf throuoghly. Wrap and store loaf overnight before slicing.

(This recipe can be doubled)

Wishing everyone a beautiful day

Hi There!

Last night and this morning I been searching the web for sales job, like Avon. Where I can stay at home with the kids. I was thinking about restarting Avon back up, but was also wondering if there is a better sales program. Any work at home people out there? ?

This week I think I mailed out around 30 swaps, if your waiting for a swap from me, it's probably on the way    I came across a really cool x-slip, it was send chocolate, but I think I will hold on to that one when the weather cools down, don't want someone to find a melted mess in their mailbox.

I think at this point Im avoiding the sewing machine, all the unused material that I had laying out has turned into a cat napping area, our cat is hinting he wants a bed made out of this material. It might just turn out to be that ... a cat pillow. lol

Outside is looking beautiful! Clear bly skies with no clouds. Just a soft breeze. It would be a good pic nic day! Wishing everyone a beautiful sunny day!

~Good Evening~

Thought I'd wouldn't get a chance to write tonight. Well, yesterday I went blank trying to figure out what to sew, and even the material (scraps) seemed to good to waste. Been surfing the net trying to find some easy patterns to try out. No luck, I will try again tomorrow. Guess Im too stubborn to give up. Earlier I was expermenting with the picture editing, I redid one of my recent photos in black and white.

Im currantly working on my kids pictures. They love bright bold colors in reverse colors. Hmm we'll see what happens, lol! If they come out ok I will upload them here. My husband don't really agree with uploading our pictures on the web, but he said this one was ok.

The weather has been strange today. It's very dark and gloomy from the clouds overcasting. I was sure it was going to rain, but we been spared. Almost feels like late autumn. Which reminds me I will post a favorite recipe I like to bake during the Fall season, I will have to look for it. Im pretty sure it's called something like 'Apple Pumpkin Muffins with Strusel Topping' One of my favorites!

The kids were watching a family movie with Dad, but I just seen one of them carrying some dolls into the living room, guess they had something different in mind. I just love this part of the day second most because it's so calm, when the kids are most settled down from a hard day at the office.

Well Im off to go cloud gazing in a few.

Hello!

How is everyone?

This summer seems to be pulling, at first it felt like it was going way too slow, but now it's August and almost over. When did it speed up?

Today is going to be a fun day ... washing beddings & cleaning all windows. Of coarse the washing part is the easiest, as I am here online typing while Im washing

I did have my husband get the sewing machine out, to experiment sewing, see Im used to sewing by hand ... so this is new to me   I don't know how you ladies make this hobby look sew easy. My husband even sews like a pro! He can make his own shirts in a days time. I observe him carefully and when I think I have it down, but as soon as I get the machine going and my material is bunched! eeek. I will atempt this sewing thing again in a bit.

Im not sure, but it looks like I lost half of the tagboard messages  hmmm, wonder if it will reapear again?

I want to Thank the following ladies for another great mail week:

Hello!

Good news is the weather is cooling down & our cat is cured! He is back to being content & lazy.   There is no more foam in his nails from going in our once favorite chair that now is clawed up, lol. The foam packed in his nails gave it away when he thought he was being sly. Thanks again for the advice

Today just seemed like one of those 'Not going anywhere days' just been kinda long & slow days. Not sure why it feels like that. Maybe because my husband has been spending a lot of time repairing his other car. And maybe because Im waiting for my son to call me, since I can't get thru his phone line. And maybe since I caught up on most of the housework Im wondering what to do now, ha ha! Do you ever have this happening to you? ... You go into another room/or somewhere outside and instantly forget what you were just after. I do have to admit I think I had a bit too much coffee this morning or it could of been too strong?

I might put more polls up soon, if you love polls visit Gayles & Robins by clicking their names in the tag board to the left of this post  And if anyone leaves a message or posts I will visit your blog too.

Bravenet is awesome! If you don't have a blog yet ... what are you waiting for? Thanks again for visiting and having a cup of coffee with me, even though its early evening

 Hi Everyone!

Thanks for coming by & visiting! I enjoy the company. I want to thank Gayle & Cassia for advice on our cat's weird behavor. I think from trying all the tips so far, he isnt showing any signs of acting up. Tomorrow will be the day I know for sure, say a prayer for him.   He told me he really don't enjoy the vet by stating,"The shots ooo the shots!" (Sorry, yes Im just pulling your leg, I just couldn't resist!)

What is the weather report out there, where your from? It's been 105* here yesterday.

Below is just a radom picture I had took last April at National Bridge Recreational Park.  This is by a nice waterfall, which I didn't get a great enough picture of to reveal it's beauty.

Anyone looking for x-slip swappers by mail? email me! Plus there's a great group that I belong to that has fun just doing these lil exchange slips, the link is on this page somewhere ...

Well back to the endless household chores for now

Thanks again for visiting!
